Character of Real Time Strategic Change

Character of Real Time Strategic Change

Real Time Strategic Change is a top-down model. It’s very suitable for complex change, as it allows simultaneous work on various aspects, such as structure, rules, values, goals, standards, processes and procedures. Implementation happens at once.

This top-down approach requires that the management predetermines the kind of changes that should be made within the organization. A draft explaining these changes is then edited by the employees. Therefore, leadership and employees take different roles in this process. It is this very approach that is the key to the success of Real Time Strategic Change.

Structure of Real Time Strategic Change

Structure of Real Time Strategic Change

The initial steps of Real Time Strategic Change serve to arouse interest and create a common basis of information. Important aspects of the organization’s current situation are investigated from different angles. To demonstrate the urgency for change, the current problem is pointed out in different ways and external stakeholders contribute with their perspectives. The situation is not only made clear intellectually but also on an emotional level.

After this phase, the management presents its change intentions to their employees. Employees in turn, add their points of view, ideas and modifications. A dialogue follows, and the various perspectives are integrated. The result is a resolution stating a common objective.

A brainstorming for implementation follows in mixed groups. Groups are formed according to departments or teams and detailed action plans are then created. Immediate action will be taken throughout the whole organization, departments, cross sections, teams and individuals. Real Time Strategic Change finishes with an agreement on how to involve colleagues and how to share their engagement for the new direction.
